Saints veteran teases another big-time uniform change that may be coming to New Orleans very soon following white helmet news

Uniform changes are always an offseason excitement around the NFL. The New Orleans Saints shook up their look with an addition of a new white helmet this week, and the reaction has been incredibly positive regarding the alternate lid.

Now, veteran pass rusher and long-time fan favorite Cameron Jordan is campaigning and hinting at a gold jersey joining the options for the Saints on a weekly basis. The Saints have not worn a gold jersey in a game since 2002, according to the team website.

Potential gold jersey for the Saints

Cam Jordan has been pushing for a gold jersey for the Saints for years. No joke - he's annually mentioned it during the offseason. It's clear he's had it on his mind for quite some time. This year, he has turned up the heat on the discussion following the reveal of the new alternate white helmet for New Orleans.

Jordan is now hinting toward another unveiling for the Saints organization this offseason.

There have been reports of a July 22nd uniform reveal for New Orleans, but some thought that may have changed with this early July reveal of the new helmet. It is possible that the introduction l later this month involves a new jersey that could replace another or just add to the mix for the black and gold (emphasis on the latter).

Our sources have indicated the New Orleans Saints will introduce a new alternate helmet and uniform on the following day, July 22. The latter is especially notable because it will replace either their 1967-68 throwback uniforms or their Color Rush design, which is effectively the road version of the throwback set. An old gold helmet makes sense, but it’s unclear which uniform would be replaced (or why it would change). -- Andrew Lind

Only time will tell if Jordan will get his wish of a gold top for a particular Saints uniform. New Orleans' gold pants have been nearly completely phased out, with the team usually opting to wear black or white pants.

Let's see if they want to add a bit more gold to their repertoire along with their impressive new helmet that will only be worn with the Color Rush uniform.
