Saints 'working to hire' 49ers assistant Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Klint Kubiak and the San Francisco 49ers are gearing up to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58. However, after the game, the offensive passing game specialist might bid farewell to the team.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints are in the process of "working to hire" Kubiak as their offensive coordinator under head coach Dennis Allen. It's important to note that a formal deal can only be concluded after Super Bowl 58.

Kubiak has been coaching in the NFL since 2013. He is in his first season with the 49ers, having joined Kyle Shanahan's staff following a stint as the Denver Broncos' offensive passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. It was his second stint in Denver, previously serving as an offensive assistant from 2016 to 2018.

Kubiak also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings (2013-14, 2019-21) and worked at Texas A&M (2010-12) and Kansas (2015) at the collegiate level.
