Salty Abdul Carter fires shot at NY Jets after getting pancaked

It is interesting that Carter claims he “ate the chip.” Usually, that doesn’t result in the defender sitting on the ground seven yards from the quarterback.

Additionally, it is ironic that Carter chose to mock the Jets when he struggled mightily in the matchup.

According to Pro Football Focus, Carter graded as the Giants’ second-worst defensive player against the Jets, posting a 46.9 mark that ranked 147th among 166 edge rushers over the weekend. On 19 defensive snaps, he had no sacks, no hits, no solo tackles, one hurry, and one assisted tackle.

The rookie’s confidence is nothing new. After New York drafted him third overall in April, Carter made headlines by asking for two Giants legends, Phil Simms and Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, to unretire their numbers so he could wear them.

Carter’s talent isn’t in question, but his bravado has already made him a headline magnet in New York. Between calling out the Jets after a shaky outing and pushing Giants legends to unretire their numbers, the rookie is showing he won’t shy away from the spotlight.
