A Super Bowl ring isn't the only ring going around Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold's finger this year. He's adding a wedding ring as well.
On Wednesday, Darnold announced via the NFL Instagram account that he'll be marrying his fiancee Katie Hoofnagle in about a month. He said he's excited for the big day but also acknowledged that there's still a lot to do to get ready.
“We’ve got about a month until the wedding,” Darnold said in a video shared Wednesday on the NFL’s Instagram account. “I was just telling Maria Taylor, the one who interviewed me, I was like, yeah, is it weird that I’m thinking about the wedding right now and that it’s in a month, and I’m like, frickin, I’m excited, but also just, it’s a lot, we got a lot to do. But, it’s exciting stuff.”
Darnold and Hoofnagle first went public with their relationship in 2023.
The happy couple have clearly been working hard on their wedding for a while though. They only just announced their engagement this past summer, ahead of Darnold's first season with the Seattle Seahawks.
It wound up being one for the history books.
While statistically 2025 may not have been quite as good for Sam Darnold as his 2024 campaign with the Minnesota Vikings, the outcome was certainly better. Darnold reaffirmed his status as a top QB by throwing for over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns as the Seahawks went 14-3 and clinched the top seed in the NFC.
In the playoffs, the Seahawks made mincemeat of the rival San Francisco 49ers, then efficiently beat the rival Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game before dominating the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Darnold played a mistake-free Super Bowl, completing half of his passes for 202 yards and a touchdown to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
