Sam Darnold Sends Clear Message After Seahawks News

Sam Darnold's health status has been a major talking point heading into the NFC Championship Game between the Seattle Seahawks and the visiting Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field in Seattle.

The 28-year-old former USC Trojans signal-caller was unable to practice in full in three opportunities leading up to the showdown against the Rams because of an oblique issue. However, Darnold has already been taken out of Seattle's injury report, further indicating his readiness to suit up in the all-important playoff matchup, as noted by Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

Darnold added further optimism about his availability when he spoke to reporters about his status.

“Feeling really good this whole week,” the two-time Pro Bowler said (via Brady Henderson of ESPN).

“I feel like the process is going right along where it should be, so I feel really good for Sunday.”

Darnold has been dealing with upper-body discomfort for some time now. He was labeled questionable before the NFC Divisional Round showdown against the San Francisco 49ers, but was ultimately given the green light to give it a go.

Darnold did not have to be spectacular for Seattle to take down the Niners, as the Seahawks' defense and their powerful rushing attack led the way to a 41-6 win, as Darnold passed for just 124 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-17 completions.

As long as he takes care of the ball and avoids turnovers, the Seahawks could be fine against the Rams, even if he's not at his 100 percent form.

In the regular season, he racked up 549 passing yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions in two meetings with Los Angeles.
