San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch continues to stay busy with roster turnover.

On Monday he made another flurry of moves — signing defensive linemen Bradlee Anae and Bruce Hector, safety Jaylen Mahoney, cornerback Fabien Moreau, and offensive lineman Isaiah Prince to one-year contracts. To make room for those players — CB Tre Avery, wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, quarterback Tanner Mordecai, and tight end Mason Pline were waived, while kicker Greg Joseph was released.

The most notable of all releases has to be Joseph, who was competing with Jake Moody to be the team's kicker in 2025. Moody will enter his third year with the 49ers and will look to improve from the 2024 season in which he missed 10 field goals. Avery, Neyor, Mordecai, and Pline were all longshots to make the 53-man roster.

The most intriguing of all signings could be Moreau. An eight-year NFL veteran, Moreau has appeared in 113 games throughout his career, starting 56. His 2021 season with the Atlanta Falcons was the best of his career, starting all 16 games and recording 61 total tackles and 11 passes defensed. The 49ers are now the sixth team he has played for.

Mahoney is re-joining the Niners after being waived back on July 31. Anae is entering his sixth NFL season and has appeared in 11 games throughout his career. Hector is a seven-year veteran who is coming off six regular season game appearances with the New York Jets last season. Finally, Prince is entering his seventh NFL season, having appeared in 22 games with four different teams.

The 49ers have seen a lot of faces come and go over the past couple of weeks as they maneuver through injuries and disappointing performances. As the preseason nears, hopefully guys begin to separate themselves and give us a clearer picture of what the roster will look like for the regular season.
