Saquon Barkley fires back at angry New York Giants fans
Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

Saquon Barkley tried to enjoy some live NBA action on Thursday night, but New York Giants fans wouldn't let him.

Barkley, who recently signed a massive deal with the Philadelphia Eagles after six seasons with the Giants, sat courtside to watch the 76ers take on the Knicks for Game 6 of the NBA playoffs.

According to Barkley, Giants fans did not take well to him cheering on the Sixers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.

But Barkley didn't bite his tongue and took to social media to share some words.

"It’s been two months… lol no way ya can still be this mad! Mf can’t even go to a basketball game," Barkley wrote on X/Twitter.

"You bailed. On New York. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind," a Giants fan replied.

Barkley Educates Giants Fans

Barkley didn't stop firing back as he gave Giants fans a quick lesson.

"Let me educate some of you fans here… I can’t bail or become a traitor if I never got an offer to come back.. so I went to the organization I felt that was the best and after already being here for a month man I’m excited to be a eagle ! Go birds," Barkley wrote.

The blame ultimately comes down to the Giants who didn't offer Barkley the long-term contract he deserved, so when the Eagles handed him a three-year, $37.75 million deal, he couldn't turn it down.

Fans should be happy for him at this point and take their anger out on New York's general manager Joe Schoen.

If Barkley can't even enjoy a basketball game, it's going to be interesting to see how fans react to him in an Eagles uniform this fall.

Playing for the Eagles is something Barkley can't wait to do, especially at home.

"Side note that game was crazy lit!! Got me geeked for homes games at the linc," Barkley wrote.
