That old EA Sports slogan, "it's in the game," might have to be reversed to "I'm not playing the game" for a defensive player that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley made look silly.
On Monday, it was announced that Barkley would be on the cover of EA Sports' latest installment of Madden NFL 26. That was followed up by the reveal trailer of the game, released on Wednesday, that showcased Barkley running in the snow against the Los Angeles Rams.

Little did Barkley or EA Sports know that sequence in the trailer was going to force a rage quit even before picking up the controller.
Rams safety Kamren Curl took to social media to share his displeasure with the Madden 26 video game after a singular moment, shining him in a bad light. The trailer had Barkley put a joke move on Curl that had him slip to the ground. Curl did not take kindly to that.
"Lmao I ain’t playing madden this year"

To be fair to EA Sports, Barkley was already embarrassing the Rams' defense on the field over the last year. The Eagles played the Rams twice, and Barkley exploded with 460 yards and four touchdowns in those matchups. He averaged an outstanding 8.8 yards per carry against Los Angeles as Philadelphia won both matchups.
Curl shouldn't be ashamed of the trailer moment. Barkley was good at making defenses look bad last year after an NFL-record 2,504 yards on the ground. If anything, Curl should wear it as a badge of honor or use it as motivation to play better.
With Barkley joining the "99 Overall Club" in Madden, fans can expect to see those types of plays on the field in real life and the video game. Curl will miss the fun of the game and Eagles fan can surely expect to run Barkley right at him in the game.
