As the NFL season came to an end and players around the league prepare for free agency, a couple of major decisions have been made.
Before the March 12 free-agency period, San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Jon Feliciano announced his retirement from the NFL.
He ended a nine-year NFL career, having played for the Las Vegas Raiders, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
After announcing his decision on social media, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley commented on the news.
"Love brother," Barkley wrote.
Barkley and Feliciano played alongside one another on the Giants during the 2022 season. Feliciano served as New York's starting center during that 9-7 season.
Upon his decision, Feliciano took to social media to share a thankful message about his football journey.
"Thank you to all my coaches that helped me get to where I’m at," Feliciano wrote. "Too many of you guys to list and don’t want to miss any. One I can’t miss, Bobby Johnson, love you man. You changed my families life. Thank you. Thankful to have played for 4 great organizations, Raiders, Bills, Giants and 49ers. To my team Sports Star NYC and Frances Reimers, thank you for all your hard work over the years."
Feliciano was originally drafted with the 128th pick in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was drafted by the Raiders after playing for the Miami Hurricanes at the collegiate level from 2010 to 2014.
