Saquon Barkley changed teams, and then neighborhoods. Both were moves to significantly more elite surroundings.
Barkley, who led both the NFL in rushing and the Philadelphia Eagles to last week's Super Bowl LIX, is likely toasting his post-New York Giants' success in his upgraded home. He moved from a 6,900-square foot mansion in Montville, New Jersey to a 10,000-plus-square-foot monstrosity in his new home in Philly.
According to the New York Post, Barkley sold his Jersey digs for a cool $3.1 million. He new house near Eagles' headquarters is worth almost $4 million.
The new house sits on five acres and features a three fireplaces, its own water filtration system and a "resort-like oasis" complete with saltwater swimming pool outdoor kitchens and, of course, a fully equipped gym.
It appeared no one on the Eagles enjoyed the Super Bowl run more than Barkley.
After his team's 40-22 shellacking of the Kansas City Chiefs, he was seen smiling with his kids during interviewed and spraying champagne in the locker room. He appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and then presented his offensive line with trucks full of Bud Light before last Friday's parade.
While Barkley had a relatively quiet Super Bowl with only 57 yards on 25 carries, his line paved the way for one of the greatest seasons by a running back in NFL history. In 21 game including the postseason, Barkley rushed for 2,504 yards and 18 touchdowns.
After years toiling as the best player on some bad teams with the Giants, Barkley can now find peace being a Super Bowl champion. And he can do it in an impressive house far from his old stomping grounds.
