The Seattle Seahawks’ preparations for the Super Bowl are in full swing, and Sam Darnold remains at the center of it all. The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback has been dealing with an oblique injury, which has limited his practice participation over the past three weeks.
Darnold, however, has played through the issue in Seattle’s last two games. He led them to victory in the divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers, 41-6. In the NFC Championship Game, Darnold registered 25-of-36 passes for 346 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Darnold’s oblique looked fine as the Seahawks took down the Los Angeles Rams, 31-27.
Darnold hasn’t fully recovered from the oblique injury. Nevertheless, he has remained adamant that he will be good to go come Sunday against the New England Patriots.
On Thursday, the Seahawks announced a crucial injury update on Darnold. After being a limited participant in practice since he injured his oblique on Jan. 15, Darnold logged his first full practice on Thursday.

This is a significant development for Darnold and the Seahawks. While there wasn’t really much doubt about his availability for Super Bowl 60, the fact that he was able to finally practice in full all but confirms his status for the big game.
The Seahawks will have one final practice on Friday, and the expectation is that Darnold will practice in full again.
The name to watch for Seattle, though, is rookie Nick Emmanwori. The 21-year-old safety rolled his ankle in practice on Wednesday. He did not practice on Thursday.
The Seahawks and the Patriots will face off at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
