Hours before the Seattle Seahawks took the field for Monday Night Football, Super Bowl champion defensive tackle Byron Murphy II made a stop that had nothing to do with film study or game plans.

Murphy pulled up to Hearth, the sneaker and streetwear shop inside Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, Washington, to show love to the staff and support a local business that has become a go-to spot for Seattle’s sneaker community.

Most players spend game day locked into their routines, keeping their minds on the matchup ahead. Murphy found time to step away and connect with the people who make up the culture around the city he plays for.

His visit to Hearth was a reminder that the relationship between a team and its community goes beyond Sundays and Monday nights. For the staff at Hearth, having a member of the Seahawks’ championship roster walk through the doors was a moment worth celebrating.

Murphy has quickly become one of the most important pieces of Seattle’s defensive front. A first-round pick out of Texas in 2024, the young defensive tackle has grown into a disruptive presence in the trenches and earned a Super Bowl ring along the way.

Off the field, he showed on Monday that he values the local businesses that help give Seattle its identity.

Seattle’s destination for Sneakerheads

Hearth has built its reputation as Seattle’s destination for sneakerheads and streetwear enthusiasts alike. The store pairs a welcoming interior with an expansive collection of sneakers, limited-edition collaborations and trend-setting streetwear.

Its goal is simple: to give every customer an unparalleled experience, whether they are hunting for a rare release or putting together their next fit.

That focus on experience is what makes shops like Hearth stand out. Sneaker culture is about more than shoes. It is about community, style and the stories behind every pair.

When a professional athlete chooses to spend time at a local store, it sends a message to fans about where the heart of the culture lives.
