RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks are not letting their championship glue guy walk. Seattle officially matched Jacksonville’s two-year, $5.5 million offer sheet for wideout Jake Bobo on Tuesday, ensuring the physical receiver remains a fixture in the Pacific Northwest through the 2027 season. The move comes just one day before the March 25 deadline, keeping a key piece of the Super Bowl LX roster intact.
General Manager John Schneider continues to prioritize the roster depth that fueled February’s title run. While Jaxon Smith-Njigba recently secured the bag as the league’s highest-paid receiver, the Seahawks recognized that stars need support. Bobo provides exactly that. He finished his first three NFL seasons with 34 catches, but his impact goes far beyond the box score.

Last season, Bobo only hauled in two passes for 20 yards during the regular season. However, he emerged when the lights were brightest. His 17-yard touchdown grab in the 31-27 NFC Championship win over the Rams helped punch Seattle’s ticket to the Super Bowl. Beyond the occasional catch, Bobo serves as the team’s premier blocking receiver and a core member of the special teams units. The Jaguars tried to lure him away with a front-loaded deal, but Seattle refused to blink.
The contract details reflect Bobo’s growing value in Mike Macdonald’s system. The deal includes $4.5 million fully guaranteed and a $1.75 million signing bonus. With incentives tied to performance, the total value could reach $7 million. It is a significant raise for a former undrafted free agent who has only started three games in his career.
“Jake is the heartbeat of that room. He does the stuff nobody else wants to do—hitting linebackers, sprinting 40 yards on punt coverage, and never complaining. You win rings with guys like him.”
— Sam Darnold, Seahawks Quarterback
Seattle’s aerial attack looks lethal heading into the title defense. JSN leads the way as the undisputed WR1, followed by the veteran savvy of Cooper Kupp and the explosive speed of Rashid Shaheed. With Bobo officially back in the fold, he rejoins a depth chart that includes second-year standout Tory Horton and Cody White.

By matching this offer, the Seahawks also managed a minor salary cap win. The new structure actually lowers Bobo’s 2026 cap hit to roughly $1.22 million, down from the original $3.52 million tender. This flexibility allows the front office more room to maneuver as they look to bolster the “Dark Side” defense for another championship run. The message from the VMAC is clear: the band is staying together.
