The Seattle Seahawks are making bold moves to revamp their offense, and the latest mock draft from Athlon Sports’ Luke Easterling has them doubling down on firepower at wide receiver. With the 18th pick, Easterling has the Seahawks selecting Matthew Golden, the standout receiver from Texas who posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine with a stunning 4.29 seconds.

Known for his blazing speed and refined route-running, Golden would be a dynamic addition to Seattle’s receiving corps. After trading away DK Metcalf this offseason, Seattle’s front office addressed one of the immediate holes by signing Cooper Kupp. Kupp, a former Super Bowl MVP, steps into the role of the veteran leader in the receiver room, filling the void left by Tyler Lockett

However, the Seahawks still need an infusion of youth and upside to round out their passing attack. That’s where Golden comes in. Pairing him with Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba would give quarterback Sam Darnold an arsenal of weapons to maximize his efficiency. Golden’s speed sets him apart, but it’s his ability to create separation and run crisp routes that make him such a valuable prospect. For a Seahawks offense looking to maintain its explosiveness despite significant roster changes, Golden’s skill set is a perfect fit. His combination of athleticism and polish would bring an immediate impact to Seattle’s passing game.

By adding Golden alongside Kupp and Smith-Njigba, Seattle appears determined to build an offense that can thrive in the post-Metcalf era. If this mock draft scenario comes to fruition, the Seahawks could be assembling one of the most versatile and dangerous receiving corps in the league.
