Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has never missed a game during his nine-plus seasons in the NFL. That streak is very much in jeopardy after the four-time Pro Bowl signal-caller dislocated one of his fingers during Thursday night's 26-17 loss against the Los Angeles Rams.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Friday morning that Wilson was set for an MRI later in the day.
#Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will have an MRI on his finger today, sources say, and then seek a consultation with hand specialist Dr. Steven Shin of Kerlan-Jobe in LA. The initial belief is he has mallet finger, essentially a sprained joint that makes it hard to flex a finger.

ESPN's Brady Henderson wrote late Thursday night that Seattle head coach Pete Carroll called the injury a "badly sprained finger." Rapoport noted that while no fracture was shown in the x-ray, Wilson isn't out of the woods yet.
The X-Rays did not show a fracture, but as we’ve seen with other players recently (Gronk, Tua), MRI and other tests can reveal more. Surgery is a possibility and part of the evaluation proces. But more answers coming today. https://t.co/inf5EIXB71

Since entering the league as the Seahawks starting quarterback in 2012, Wilson has started 149 contests in a row. After Wilson was injured in the third quarter of the week five loss to the Rams, backup Geno Smith came on in relief in the fourth.
Smith led the Seahawks on a pair of scoring drives to get back in it, but ultimately threw an interception just before the two-minute warning to all but ice the Rams' victory.
Seattle is 2-3 and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in week six on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 17.
