Seahawks Request Interview With Saints OC Klint Kubiak

The Seattle Seahawks have requested an interview with Saints OC Klint Kubiak for their offensive coordinator job, according to Jeremy Fowler

Kubiak reportedly has interest from the Browns, but he has yet to set up an interview there.

The Seahawks are looking to overhaul their offense to be more in line with what HC Mike MacDonald wants moving forward.

Kubiak, 37, played four years of college football at Colorado State before entering the coaching ranks in 2010 at Texas A&M as a quality control coach. He joined the Vikings in 2013 as an assistant WR coach, spent a year at Kansas as its WR coach, and joined the Broncos in 2016 as an offensive assistant.

Kubiak joined his father, Gary Kubiak, with the Vikings in 2019 as Minnesota’s QB coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2021. He was not retained when the team fired HC Mike Zimmer and returned to the Broncos as their QB coach.

From there, the 49ers hired Kubiak last offseason as their passing game coordinator. He joined the Saints as their offensive coordinator last February.

In 2024, the Saints’ offense ranked No. 21 in yards, No. 24 in points scored, No. 14 in rushing yards and No. 23 in passing yards.

Packers’ Starter Could Be Shocking Roster Cut Later This Summer

The Green Bay Packers have revamped the wide receiving corps over the offseason. In addition to selecting Matthew Golden in the first round of April’s NFL Draft, and rounding back to add Savion Williams in the third round, the Packers also inked veteran Mecole Hardman as a free agent, further bolstering Jordan Love’s supporting cast, creating competition and in all likelihood adding special teams value. Suddenly, the Packers’ crowded wide receiver room could be one of the hottest competitions for snaps and roster spots in the league. Could the Packers Move on From Christian Watson? Christian Watson is still recovering from a torn ACL, but not everyone believes he’s a lock to even make the Packers’ roster out of training camp. Pro Football Network’s Jacob Infante suggests Watson could be cut, or traded, at some point this summer. “Watson doesn’t have the special-teams value that Mecole Hardman,” Infante writes of Watson. “Bo Melton, and Malik Heath all have. Both Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks have done a better job of staying healthy, and Jayden Reed and the two rookies are locks to make the team. That could leave Watson as a realistic cut candidate since he is sidelined with a torn ACL.” Moving on from Watson would be a pretty big surprise, for the Packers, but not out of the realm of possibility. Through his first three seasons, Watson has caught 96 passes for 1,653 yards and 14 touchdowns, and if healthy, would likely begin this season at or near the top of the depth chart. He simply isn’t healthy and doesn’t contribute much on special teams. The Packers have established a youth movement and have certainly created competition at the position, and if Green Bay believes that the likes of Wicks, Reed, and Melton are more valuable than Watson, it could lead to some difficult conversations and decisions in the weeks ahead about the 26-year-old’s future.

Maple Leafs are reportedly looking to make a splash trade

With the Toronto Maple Leafs losing star Mitch Marner this offseason, the team has had to fill a massive hole in the lineup. The Toronto front office has done a decent job so far, and the roster looks a little more well-rounded. But it seems that the Maple Leafs may not be done making moves this summer. According to NHL insider Nick Kypreos of SportsNet, Toronto could trade away defensemen Morgan Rielly or Brandon Carlo in an attempt to add more offense. "While we do also have Morgan Rielly on this list, if the Leafs move a defenseman it'll likely only be one of them. But while Rielly comes with the complication of a no-movement clause, Brandon Carlo has just an eight-team no-trade list and so is also worth putting on the trade board. "Making $3.485M against the cap for another two years, Carlo was a welcome addition to the Leafs' defense corps, averaging 19:13 of ice time per game and nearly two minutes on the PK. In the playoffs, he was among the team's shot-blocking leaders," Kypreos wrote. Marner accounted for 27 goals and 75 assists last season, which will be very tough for the Maple Leafs to replace. But the team does have a limited number of tradable assets to work with, which could potentially be why they are thinking of trading a defender. The Toronto front office remains very active on the trade front and it could lead to a deal taking place. There is still plenty of time left between now and the start of the regular season, giving the Maple Leafs some needed optionality before the new year.

MLB Insider Makes Brutal Yankees Prediction

New York Yankees fans know all too well how long it's been since the club last won a World Series title. If general manager Brian Cashman doesn't successfully wheel and deal ahead of the July 31 MLB trade deadline, it's entirely the title drought will continue in the Bronx. And that's not even the worst of it. "The Yankees, even without ace Gerrit Cole, were comfortably cruising along towards another AL East title when the wheels came off, and they have less than two weeks to see if they can find the right mechanic to get them rolling again," USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported Sunday. "This is a team that had a seven-game lead in late May, were 17 games over .500 in mid-June, but then were swept by the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels, and still haven’t been the same, losing 19 times in the last 30 games," Nightengale continued. "They are desperate to find a third baseman and another starter in the next 12 days. If they come up empty, they may have trouble just slipping into the postseason," Nightendale concluded. "Sitting home in October would be nothing short of disastrous," Nightengale added for emphasis. The Yankees last missed the playoffs two years ago before returning to the World Series last fall. In seeking its first title since 2009, New York lost the 2024 Fall Classic to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games. This year, the Yankees have a 42% chance of winning the American League East, according to FanGraphs. New York has a 49.4% chance of winning an AL wild card, giving them a 91.4% chance overall of reaching the playoffs. The Yankees have a 10% chance of winning the World Series, which is tied with the Detroit Tigers for the best odds in the American League. The Dodgers remain the overall World Series favorites with a 20.8% chance of winning another title. The 'NFL QBs with the most 4-TD, 0-INT games' quiz

While rookie Jaxson Dart appears to be the quarterback of the future for the New York Giants, the signal caller of the present looks set to be veteran Russell Wilson. As Giants training camp for the 2025 season began this week, head coach Brian Daboll said Russ will be QB1 to start the year. "These guys will be out here competing, but Russ is our starter," Daboll said. Wilson, who recently said he wanted to play at least five more seasons, is entering his 14th campaign and is with his third new team in as many years. Which brings us to today's quiz. To go along with his Super Bowl title, Wilson has also accumulated 46,135 passing yards and 350 touchdowns. With that being said, can you name the NFL quarterbacks who have the most games with at least four passing touchdowns without an interception? Good luck! Did you like this quiz?
