Seahawks TE Noah Fant believes Drew Lock has 'all the talent in the world' to be franchise QB

One-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson was the biggest name involved in last month's blockbuster trade between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos but wasn't the only player to officially change clubs when the new NFL year opened. Tight end Noah Fant, signal-caller Drew Lock, and defensive lineman Shelby Harris were sent from Denver to Seattle, and Fant later remarked that he learned about the trade from television reports instead of directly from his now-former employer.

Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Fant spoke with Seattle reporters on Tuesday and offered high praise for Lock, who is currently atop the depth chart ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.

"Drew’s biggest attribute is his arm," Fant explained. "He’s made some insane throws in the time that we’ve played together. He has all the talent in the world. . . . I think he has all the opportunity and all the talent in the world to get it done and be that franchise guy."

According to Curtis Crabtree of KCPQ, Fant added that he's aware he was nearly drafted by Seattle general manager John Schneider in 2019 and also said that it's unclear if the Seahawks will pick up the fifth-year option attached to his rookie contract:

As for Lock, it's unknown if the Seahawks truly believe he can be QB1 for at least next season or are merely sending out mixed signals and waiting to see if the Cleveland Browns will cut 2018 first-overall draft pick Baker Mayfield if no team trades for him before or during the draft that runs from April 28 through April 30.

Seattle doesn't have to play anytime soon and, thus, can keep Lock as its starter until further notice.
