The Seattle Seahawks walloped the Washington Commanders despite dealing with some key injuries.
Sam Darnold played with a chest ailment, while Cooper Kupp was inactive due to a hamstring. Seattle even has a tight end dilemma with Eric Saubert on injured reserve.
The latter injury helps explain Tuesday's workout at the Seahawks' facility for this free agent.
NFL insider Aaron Wilson reported that Jordan Murray ran routes in front of Seahawks representatives.
Murray is a past Football Championship Subdivision talent from Missouri State. He earned FCS Freshman All-American honors by Phil Steele back in 2018 -- all after averaging 11.5 yards per catch as a first-year college football player.
He shattered TE records that season -- hauling in 33 catches for 378 yards and scoring four touchdowns. Murray elevated his touchdowns to five during his sophomore season of 2019.
Murray left the Bears catching 99 receptions for 1,196 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns. He eventually transferred to Hawai'i for his final CFB campaign -- but caught only 10 passes for 70 yards in the 2022 season.
Murray went undrafted in 2023. He landed with the Houston Texans on May 17 as an undrafted free agent. The franchise waived him, however, on Aug. 29 as part of the league's final 53-man roster deadline.
He eventually stayed in the AFC South -- joining the Indianapolis Colts practice squad nearly a month after the Texans waived him. Indy released him before the 2024 season, though.
The Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants represented his next two stops. Murray last was seen with the Chicago Bears -- who waived him on Aug. 16.
Murray would become an emergency fourth TE if signed. AJ Barner is the starter who caught three passes for 24 yards in the Sunday Night Football rout. Rookie Elijah Arroyo grabbed two receptions for 29 yards and scored one touchdown in the 38-14 trouncing.
