The Buffalo Bills are making their final preparations for their upcoming preseason matchup against the New York Giants. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming contest.
From Sean McDermott providing an injury update on a slew of players, more James Cook drama, and Josh Allen finally opening up on his thoughts with Cook's contract drama, it was a busy day for Bills fans.
Taylor Rapp, dealing with a knee injury, won’t practice today and Sean McDermott said he’ll be out for about a week. Cole Bishop is still out and ramping up but both projected starting safeties hurt at the moment for the Bills.

The Bills Mafia was given a big reason to celebrate, though. McDermott gave fans an inside look at one of the more important position battles throughout camp: WR. Specifically, McDermott opened up about camp darling and 53-man roster hopeful, Tyrell Shavers.
For those who may not be aware of Shaver's game, he registered just one catch last season and took it to the house for a touchdown that had the fans jumping up and down. Or just me, that's fine.

McDermott, speaking on Shavers and his ability to rise to the occasion with other injuries to the position group, might have just revealed a surprise roster plan regarding Shavers.
With Shakir and others down with injury, it allows players like Shavers to try and cement their role on the team.

As Jenna Cottrell, Buffalo Bills Reporter and Host of Buffalo Plus, shared McDermott's message on X. When asked about Shavers, McDermott didn't hold back. "That dudes tough as nails... he's a true buffalo bill in that regard."
Just a few short words to have us pumped about the training camp darling's chances of making the 53-man roster. Shavers has reportedly been balling out at camp and seizing every opportunity that comes his way. It'll go a long way toward Shavers making the roster. From McDermott's comments, he may just do that.

All eyes will be on Shavers, along with some of the younger guys hoping to make an impact, as McDermott has already claimed that starters would play "give or take" one quarter. It'll all be up to Shavers to send a message with his gameplay, and we're confident he's up for the challenge.
