Sean McDermott Reveals Good News On Joey Bosa's Bills Preseason Debut

Joey Bosa was seen as one of the big free agent signings for the Buffalo Bills this offseason, and the pass rusher didn't get a free ride through the first preseason game against the New York Giants.

Given Bosa's injury history, one could be forgiven for thinking he might have sat out the 34-25 loss at Highmark Stadium, but Joey got his feet wet in Sean McDermott's system, and more importantly, got through unscathed.

While it was only a small sample size, we saw what Bosa's presence can do for the other pass rushers, something that needed more bite last season, and McDermott liked what he saw.

“I thought it was good that he got out there,” McDermott said. “It really was. Same for our ones get out there, get their minds right, minds around, hey, playing and getting into warm-ups, going out there getting some maybe pregame jitters going, and that's the ramp up to the season here.

"We got a lot of work to do. I thought Joey again did some good things there, looked like in the run game in particular on a couple plays and I appreciate him being the pro that he's been to this point and going out there and playing.”

So Bosa's ramp-up will continue over the coming weeks, and we imagine that he might see more snaps in Buffalo's remaining preseason games to get him as close to match fit as the Bills can.

The signing of Joey was seen as a good one, but only if he can avoid the injury bug, and while it is only one preseason game, Bosa has gotten some snaps under his belt as he looks to reignite his NFL career in the AFC West.
