Sean McVay Reveals Reason Why Dolphins Haven't Traded Jalen Ramsey

June 1st was designated as the possible date that the Miami Dolphins would part ways with Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and for whatever reason, he remains on the roster nearly three weeks later.

There could be a couple of reasons as to why, maybe Miami hasn't received an offer they deem worthy. But the more likely reason is Ramsey's bloated salary, which owes him $72 million over the next three years.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, whose team has been rumored to be interested in Ramsey's services, spoke to the media at Rams mandatory minicamp about the difficulties of acquiring a player with that large of a contract.

“Usually, those are scenarios and situations that you have to have plans in place prior to executing some of the decisions that have occurred,” McVay said via NFL.com's Kevin Patra.

“Definitely don’t want to rule anything out because we’re always open-minded to onboarding and acquiring quality players and people like him if we’re able to do that, but there would be some obstacles that are real that are in the place of maybe preventing that from occurring.”

The obstacles that McVay is referring to is money.

If Miami is really intent on trading Ramsey, they are more than likely going to have to agree to either pay a portion of his salary or receive less compensation in return for the Florida State product.

Regardless, a trade for the former Jacksonville Jaguar and Los Angeles Ram should be in the works, and him moving on from the Dolphins is more of a question of when and not if.
