The Seattle Seahawks are adding depth to the offensive line this week amid injuries to the unit. They poached two offensive linemen off other teams’ practice squads Thursday.

The Seahawks signed 41-year-old Jason Peters this week as the team Charles Cross continues to battle injury in Week 2. But that wasn’t enough to appease the Seahawks, who lost Abraham Lucas to injured reserve this week.

The Seattle Seahawks poach two OL

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Seahawks signed offensive guard McClendon Curtis from the Las Vegas Raiders and offensive tackle Raiqwon O’Neal from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad.

Curtis was an FCS All-American at Chattanooga signed by the Raiders as a UDFA following April’s draft. O’Neal is a UDFA who played his college football at UCLA.

Per a statement by the Seahawks, Curtis and O’Neal had impressive resumes in college:

O’Neal, who went undrafted out of UCLA, started all 13 games at left tackle last season. Prior to transferring to UCLA, Smith played at Rutgers where he started 21 games at left tackle over three seasons.

Curtis, who signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee-Chattanooga, started 38 games in his college career, primarily playing right guard but also playing left tackle and left guard.

They’ll make a giant leap from the practice to squad to playing for a 2022 playoff team’s 53-man roster on a new team in Week 2. The Seahawks had to sign both players to the 53-man roster in order to poach them off other team’s practice squads.
