Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith had a breakout season in 2022, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns. This season, he had a pretty substantial dip in production, but still put-up decent numbers. And on Thursday evening, it was revealed by Field Yates of ESPN that the Seahawks have decided to restructure his contract. They’re converting his $9.6 million roster bonus into a signing bonus, which creates $4.8 million in cap space.
In the 2023-2024 campaign, Smith completed 64.7% of his passes for 3,624 yards, while tossing in 20 touchdowns with 9 interceptions.
