Seattle Seahawks waive quarterback Jaren Hall, three other players

On Tuesday, the Seattle Seahawks waived four players, including quarterback Jaren Hall, in their first post-draft roster cleanse. The team also waived linebacker Michael Dowell, center Michael Novitsky and edge Kenneth Odumegwu.

Once the Seahawks added third-round pick Jalen Milroe in the 2025 NFL draft, the writing was on the wall for Hall. The former fifth-round draft pick began his career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2023.

Hall appeared in three games (two starts) for the Vikings, passing for 168 yards and one interception. Seattle scooped up the former BYU standout after he was waived by Minnesota at the start of the 2024 season.

The 27-year-old did not appear in a regular season game for the Seahawks last season.

Dowell, Novitsky and Odumegwu all spent time on Seattle's practice squad last season but did not appear in any regular season games. None of these moves are entirely surprising as the team just added 11 players in the 2025 NFL draft.

The Seahawks added versatile offensive lineman Grey Zabel in the first round. Then in Round 2, the team selected a safety prospect in Nick Emmanwori who's been compared to Legion-of-Boom legend Kam Chancellor.

Milroe is a dual-threat quarterback prospect who could be in a perfect situation to develop behind Sam Darnold over the next few seasons.
