'Severely Overlooked' - PFF Analyst Dalton Wasserman Bullish on Bengals AFC Title Hopes

Pro Football Focus analyst Dalton Wasserman thinks the Bengals are getting "overlooked" as AFC title contenders. The conference is pretty wide open as Kansas City loses more talent this offseason, bumping them from the top betting odds to win the conference.

Wasserman thinks a surging defense from the end of last season is a good sign to complement Cincinnati's elite offense.

"The Bengals are being severely overlooked when it comes to AFC contention in the 2025 season," Wasserman said on the platform. "When you have Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins on your offense, you have a chance to win any game. And they proved that last year, going 8-4 when all three of them were healthy and on the field despite the struggles of their defense—that unit actually played better last season, finishing with the sixth-best PFF grade over their five-game winning streak to end the year the Bengals have enough talent offensive leading to win games, and their defense just has to keep them in it under new defensive coordinator Al Golden and they'll be able to contend for the AFC title."

Cincinnati currently holds the consensus fourth-best betting odds in the AFC to win the conference (+950). Only Baltimore, Buffalo, and Kansas City have shorter odds, so they aren't being overlooked by oddsmakers.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
