Shedeur Sanders Called Snobbish By NFL Former Superman

As the Shedeur Sanders saga gets weirder by the day, now the former NFL star that mimicked Superman is criticizing the Cleveland Browns' rookie quarterback for being - of all things - too arrogant.

Cam Newton, who won NFL MVP in 2015 and produced grandiose touchdown celebrations in which he pretended to reveal a Superman's trademark "S" under his jersey, is these days a league analyst on ESPN's First Take and his own podcast. Of all the various opinions of Shedeur's surprising slide, Cam's might be the most shocking.

Instead of embracing a quarterback seemingly cut from the same cloth, Newton believes Shedeur dropped because of his entitled vibe.

"Shedeur, like, first off, I gotta hold him accountable, right?" Newton said on an episode of his podcast. "Travis Hunter is what we would think Shedeur is supposed to be. Travis Hunter is polished like a quarterback. Shedeur has always got this mean mug look on his face. Snobbish-looking, you know what I'm saying? I've met Shedeur multiple times and I'm looking at him and I'm like, 'Okay.'"

Cam even went so far as to poke fun at Shedeur's habit of celebrating big plays by pointing to an expensive watch on his wrist.

Said Newton, "Like, he's always in character like, 'I gotta portray like I'm hard.'"

Again, this from Cam Newton, who during his ESPN appears often wears flamboyant and elaborate costumes featuring gaudy hats and jewelry. "Always in character," one might even say.
