Shedeur Sanders’ rookie season with the Cleveland Browns was defined by patience, pressure and rising expectations. Selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft (No. 144 overall), Sanders began the year low on the depth chart before injuries and inconsistent play ahead of him opened the door.
As the Browns stumbled through a 2-8 record, a growing segment of the fan base openly called for Sanders to take over as the starter. He eventually did in Week 12, and the buzz only intensified from there.
Despite slipping deep into the draft, Sanders became one of the most talked about stars in the NFL and his popularity continued to grow. His Browns rookie jersey became the top-selling among all rookies before the start of the season, per the NFLPA.
Now, as he prepares for the offseason buildup toward Year 2, Sanders shared an update that will excite his growing fan base.
On his Instagram stories, he revealed that he will be dropping new merchandise on Tuesday. He also shared a link to his YouTube channel, urging fans to subscribe for content and updates as he continues building his personal platform.
Sanders’ brand has expanded steadily dating back to his college career, where he secured multiple endorsement deals and established himself as one of the most marketable young quarterbacks in football. That visibility has carried into the NFL, where his social media presence continues to show how strong his appeal has been from Day 1. He also ranked as the most searched NFL player on Google in 2025.

Sanders appeared in eight games and made seven starts, finishing with 1,400 passing yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His most notable outing came against the Tennessee Titans, when he threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns — tying a Browns rookie record for passing yards in a game and earning NFL Rookie of the Week honors. He helped the team secure three more wins to close out the year and earned his first Pro Bowl selection.
With the Browns entering a new era under head coach Todd Monken, Sanders is expected to compete firmly for the starting job in 2026. After climbing the depth chart as a rookie and energizing the fan base, the spotlight on him will only grow as Cleveland looks to rebound from last season’s disappointment.
