Shedeur Sanders' most likely 2025 NFL Draft spot revealed by betting markets plus other big takeaways from final stretch odds

It's NFL Draft week! The beauty of the big event is no one really knows how things will play out but by now, insiders have done a great job shedding light into each team's plans.

However, instead of looking into insiders' buzz, we're taking a look at what Vegas* thinks. Below are five takeaways derived from betting odds that give us some key insights into what will likely happen in Round 1.

Let's dive in!

Shedeur Sanders' best shot are the New Orleans Saints

It's not looking like the Giants will pick Sanders at No. 3 and his fall might last up until the No. 9 overall pick. At least, that's what each team's odds to pick quarterback say. Take a look at each QB-needy team in the top 10:

  • Giants: +550
  • Raiders: +2000
  • Jets: +1000

Enter the Saints: -150

Add to that Sanders' over/under bets are listed at 8.5, so this is the defining pick for his future.

The top four picks are locked in

It sure is starting to look like the Top 4 is set in stone, as the first through fourth overall pick have largely negative odds:

  • 1st: Cam Ward -10000 (lol)
  • 2nd: Travis Hunter -800
  • 3rd: Abdul Carter -550
  • 4th: Will Campbell -420

The real action will start at No. 5 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where Ashton Jeanty and Mason Graham could both be in play.

Armand Membou isn't escaping the Top 10

Membou is still finding himself out of the Top 10 in many a mock draft but the betting world believes he's a virtual lock at -350. As the consensus second best offensive lineman in the Draft, that figures.

His floor is likely the Chicago Bears, who have rebuilt the interior offensive line and could pair Membou with Darnell Wright.

Locked in positions for 3 NFL teams?

For teams picking in the back half of the first round, it's usually very difficult to pinpoint a specific position for any given NFL team because it's all about the board and it's hard to predict what will happen in so many picks. But three teams are heavy favorites to pick specific positions outside the top 14:

  • Falcons:-250 DL/EDGE
  • Texans: -260 OL
  • Lions:  -200 DL/EDGE

Those are pretty good for specific positions, particularly as late as the Texans and Lions, who pick 25th and 28th respectively.

Steelers might realistically pick Jaxson Dart

Unless the Steelers trade up, they're unlikely to find Sanders at No. 21, as outlined above. But could they settle for Ole Miss' quarterback?

Dart is slightly favored to go in the Top 24 picks at -110. The Steelers make the most sense and quarterback is their second-likeliest pick at +250. With Aaron Rodgers' decision still in the air, Omar Khan could realistically take the swing.
