The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets face off in Week 10 in a battle of lowly AFC teams. The Browns are 2-6 on the year and the Jets are 1-7.
Cleveland is coming off a bye week, but the Browns have lost four of the last five games, with the lone win in that stretch coming against the Miami Dolphins.
The Browns began the year with Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback before turning to rookie Dillon Gabriel. After trading Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals, rookie Shedeur Sanders became the QB2.
As of now, the former Colorado Buffaloes star has yet to see action in his rookie season. In the Browns' latest game against the New England Patriots, Sanders was inactive due to a back injury.
Entering Week 10, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Sanders was still dealing with the injury.
On Wednesday, Sanders' injury status took a turn.
Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com reported that three players were not expected to practice on Wednesday, and Sanders was not one of them.

Kay Cabot added more about Sanders' return:
"Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will be limited with his back injury on Wednesday, and his status for Sunday’s game against the Jets in New York is in doubt," Mary Kay Cabot wrote. "Stefanski said they’ll see over the next few days how Sanders fares before determining if he can serve as the backup to Dillon Gabriel against the 1-7 Jets."
Gabriel, who played the end of his college career with the Oregon Ducks, was selected in the third round, while Sanders went in the fifth round.
Gabriel has played in six games, throwing for 702 yards with five touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.
