He may have had to wait longer than he'd hoped, but Shedeur Sanders is officially an NFL quarterback and his jersey is already flying off the shelves — especially now that he has his number.
On Tuesday, Awful Announcing's Ben Axelrod shared the Browns' rookie jersey numbers going into minicamp and it looks like Sanders is going to be switching things up in the pros.
Shedeur has rocked his signature No. 2 from high school, to Jackson State and then to Boulder. But now that he's arriving in Cleveland, he's going to be tacking another digit onto it.
Per Axelrod, Sanders will wear No. 12 as a Brown — just like one of his mentors Tom Brady (and former Heisman Trophy-winning teammate Travis Hunter).
Here's a look at the rest of the franchise's 2025 class:
It hasn't taken long for Shedeur to already ingratiate himself with the Cleveland community. Showing up John Marshall High School and telling the students there:
"I'm trying to bring Cleveland a Super Bowl! But off the field, I want to bring more hope and positivity to the city, and connecting with young people is one of the best ways to do that."
"I just got to Cleveland. I just got here yesterday," he added. "I just wanted to come out and see y'all. We're working out every day. We got a purpose. We got something we're trying to accomplish and achieve... I have a lot of people watching me, and I know I'm a positive influence for the youth. That motivates me every day."
Despite his fifth-round status, Shedeur brings hope to an organization that hasn't had much in recent seasons — outside of a few years with Baker Mayfield and about an hour of Johnny Manziel.
Sanders already has the top-selling jersey of this year's incoming rookies. Will you be rocking a Browns No. 12 this fall?
