The college days are officially behind Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. After becoming household names at the University of Colorado, both athletes are stepping into the spotlight of professional football.
With NFL training camps just around the corner, Sanders and Hunter are preparing to make their mark on their new teams. Sanders is competing for a roster spot with the Cleveland Browns. Hunter, taken with the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, is now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On Sunday, the Jaguars announced they had signed Hunter to his rookie deal. His former college teammate, Sanders, took to social media to react to the news.

Hunter’s deal is four years, $46,649,114, including a $30,566,628 signing bonus. As with all first-round picks, the deal includes a standard fifth-year option.
During the draft, Jacksonville traded up with Cleveland to secure Hunter, a versatile playmaker who can line up at both wide receiver and cornerback. The Jaguars were determined to land him, believing he could be a difference-maker on both sides of the ball.
First-year Jaguars general manager James Gladstone had high praise for the two-way star. Speaking about Hunter, he said:
"He has the capacity to alter the trajectory of the sport itself."
Hunter made history last season by winning the Heisman Trophy and becoming the only FBS player since 2000 to record 10 or more receiving touchdowns and at least five interceptions in a career.
The Jaguars open their preseason on Aug. 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their regular season kicks off at home on Sept. 7 against the Carolina Panthers.
