After emerging at various points during the 2021 season as a possible replacement for Austin Ekeler, second-year Los Angeles Chargers running back Isaiah Spiller closed the season out weakly.

The 6'6", 215-pound RB was selected with the No. 123 pick in the fourth round out of Texas A&M. A two-time All-SEC honoree while with the Aggies (he was a First Teamer in 2020 and Second Teamer in '21), Spiller has yet to really realize his upside at the pro level.

With a Bolts team desperate to reinvent its run game around Justin Herbert (and one which will potentially be without top running back Ekeler or his backup Joshua Kelly), head coach Jim Harbaugh and Los Angeles general manager Joe Hortiz are no doubt on the hunt for cost-effective options at the position.

Spiller, 22, would certainly qualify in that context. He is still playing through the four-year, $4.4 million deal he inked with the Bolts for two more seasons.
