Should Colts trade for Matt Ryan?

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is reportedly not convinced that Matt Ryan is the quarterback of the future for the team, and ESPN's Mike Greenberg thinks the Indianapolis Colts should take advantage of that and snatch up the star quarterback.

"If Matt Ryan was on the Indianapolis Colts by the end of this season, they'd look like a Super Bowl team," Greenberg said on "Get Up." "They're missing one piece, and that one piece is the quarterback of the Falcons right now."

It's a far-fetched but intriguing trade concept. The Colts look like they have a lights-out defense, but quarterback Philip Rivers has struggled the past few games and has the Indianapolis offense looking below average. Ryan is several years younger than Rivers and appears to still have plenty of gas left in the tank to make a couple more Super Bowl runs.

Of course, the question here isn't really if the Colts would do it (you imagine they would), but if the Falcons would actually pull off a trade like this. Franchise quarterbacks are almost never traded unless they are well past their primes, which Ryan is not. Sure, Blank might have some hesitation, but would he really be willing to ship Ryan off and fully commit to a rebuild?

If so, the Colts or any other team would likely have to pay a king's ransom to land the former MVP. If Indy could pull it off, it could immediately shoot the team to the top of the AFC alongside the Ravens and Chiefs.
