Should Steelers bring back this LB?

The Steelers rebuilt their inside linebacker room this offseason, but they've done this before and it hasn't turned out well. So, should the team bring back a familiar face?

Linebacker Myles Jack, who was cut by the Steelers following the 2022 season, is still a free agent and Pittsburgh should consider bringing him back. Although Jack was a part of the team's underwhelming inside linebacker room last season, he has been a sure tackler throughout his career.

Jack posted 104 tackles in 15 games last year, and with the ability to get fully healthy this offseason, the Steelers may not want to let the 27-year-old go quite yet.

Pittsburgh has been down this road many times since losing LB Ryan Shazier, whose career ended due to a spinal injury he suffered in 2017.

The team's history of finding inside linebackers since hasn't been pretty, signing or trading for Jon Bostic (2018), Avery Williamson (2020) and Joe Schobert (2021). All played just one season for the Steelers.

Pittsburgh signed linebackers Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts in free agency, but with their terrible track record, it must have some fans on edge.

Re-signing Jack would be a low-risk, high-reward investment at this point of the offseason as he shouldn't cost much at all. The only problem is the Steelers already gave his No. 51 to fourth-round rookie LB Nick Herbig, but that's nothing a little money can't solve.
