Should The Raiders Exercise Patience With GM Tom Telesco?

The uncertainty of Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco’s future has recently become a divisive topic among Raider Nation. Should he stay? Or should he go?

The Silver and Black find themselves in a highly precarious situation, with numerous unknown factors looming ahead of the 2025 offseason. First, the status of our head coach, Antonio Pierce, remains uncertain. One of the organization’s worst seasons is on track for him. Telesco, for his part, delivered one of the best draft classes in recent memory for the Raiders. That alone was refreshing when you consider the abysmal drafting by the previous two regimes.

We also have the Tom Brady dilemma to contend with. Fans are already aware of his significant role moving forward, but what exactly is his philosophy and what is his vision for the Raiders? More importantly, whether Telesco fits into that future is a major question mark.

Recently, majority owner Mark Davis made it clear to the media that Telesco and Pierce will undergo separate evaluations. In other words, the fate of these two will not be tied together. As far as Raiders fans go, we posed the question via our Twitter/X. Interestingly, many within the Nation desire the organization to demonstrate consistency and patience with Telesco, particularly in light of the rookies he has produced this year.

Regardless of your opinions about Telesco, it’s undeniable that the Raiders made the right choice in selecting him. Following the failures of two previous inexperienced general managers, Davis opted for a proven asset. In fact, as The Athletic’s Dianna Russini mentioned this week, Telesco is one of the most respected minds in the NFL. Why would the Raiders move on from that?

How do you feel about Telesco’s prospects moving forward? Should he and Brady work in tandem to restore some semblance of identity to the Silver and Black?
