Should the Raiders revisit Maxx Crosby trade talks?

Against all odds, Maxx Crosby is right back with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The superstar pass rusher was close to a move to the Baltimore Ravens, but concerns about his surgically repaired knee ultimately killed the deal.

Crosby has buried the hatchet and said and done all the right things about wanting to stay in Sin City, but the team already considered moving him once. So, who's to say that won't be the case again?

According to Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, the Raiders might reconsider their stance on Crosby, depending on how they fare next season.

The Raiders could have a strong market for Maxx Crosby

“While Las Vegas is unquestionably a better team with Crosby on the roster, gauging his trade value would be logical,” Knox wrote

Moreover, the Raiders already have a solid baseline for a potential asking price.

With Myles Garrett gone, plus the two first-round picks they nearly got for Crosby, Knox believes they might be in a position to ask for an elite return package.

“If the Raiders can get a similar return for what Cleveland got in the Myles Garrett trade, they would need to consider it,” he added. “They should see what sort of preseason offers can be had, possibly from the team that traded Micah Parsons just before the start of last season.”

The Browns got a rising star in Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick that can become a first-rounder if they trade Garrett to an AFC North team.

Of course, Garrett is the best defensive player in the league—and perhaps the best player overall—so teams won't be as eager to give up that much for Crosby.

That said, the rebuilding Raiders can still get plenty in return for their aging star, and a slow start to the season should lead them to some tough conversations about him, especially if he's fully healthy.
