Should the Steelers sign former AFC North receiver?

General manager Omar Khan said the Steelers are looking into slot receivers that fit what they want to do as an offense and there is a veteran who's still available that could be a perfect fit.

The Steelers should sign free-agent WR Jarvis Landry, who ranks as Pro Football Focus' No. 35 remaining free-agent.

He spent four years with the Browns from 2018-21, so he already knows the mentality it takes to play in the AFC North. During his time in Cleveland, Landry posted 288 catches for 3,560 yards and 15 touchdowns and he would likely welcome the opportunity to play his former team twice a year.

The 30-year-old is coming off a down year in 2022, however, where he played in a career-low nine games and had a career-worst 25 catches for 272 yards and one touchdown.

Although, Landry's down year does make him a cheap option for Pittsburgh.

He signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Saints last offseason and now that the nine-year veteran is still available almost three weeks removed from the start of free agency, the Steelers may be able to sign him to a similar deal.

Khan recently said, "Free agency's not over. There’s a lot of good players still out there," and Landry might just be Pittsburgh's next addition to its roster.
