The Pittsburgh Steelers definitely made a splash this offseason by adding Jalen Ramsey to an already stacked defense featuring big names like Darius Slay and T.J. Watt. On paper, it sounds like a unit that should keep opposing quarterbacks up at night.
But even with one of the league’s top corners now in the mix, you’d think Steelers fans would be buzzing with confidence except, that’s not exactly the vibe in Pittsburgh right now. There’s still this cloud of skepticism hanging over what this team can actually pull off when it matters most.
A post on X with a collage of the defensive side of the ball at Pittsburgh drew reactions as fans vented their frustrations with the team.

One fan said, “A bunch of washed (expletive) players. Steelers defense is going to be bottom 5 in the league.”
“Stacked everywhere but quarterback.”- said a fan voicing his concerns
Another fan added, “9-8 record on the way!”
“T.J Watt is going missing go ahead and cross him off this”- commented a fan with doubts over the linebacker.
A fan added, “Ravens gonna crush these bums again”
“Yes. However, they still have an awful DC and Head Coach who are clueless when it comes to Defensive Strategy and Schemes.”- commented a fan highlighting the bigger problems facing the team.
Right now, the Steelers are hanging around the top half of the league, Pro Football Network had them at No. 12 before they brought in Jalen Ramsey. Last season, they forced a league-high 33 turnovers, but Minkah Fitzpatrick didn’t add much there.
Ramsey, though, brings more picks and versatility, slotting in nicely with Darius Slay and Joey Porter Jr. The secondary looks stronger, and when you add that to a defensive line led by Watt and Cam Heyward, it’s stacked.
The big question mark? Can the offense, now with Aaron Rodgers and more weapons, stay healthy and keep up? And, can Mike Tomlin and co actually maximize their defense with good play calling and defensive schemes to prove the fans wrong.
