When the Dallas Cowboys traded for Pittsburgh Steelers receiver George Pickens, many immediately wondered how CeeDee Lamb would deal with the decrease in targets.
Being the No. 1 guy for so long, now Lamb will have to share the limelight with Pickens, which is not going to be an issue.
Both have clear love and understanding for how each other goes about their business, and on the recent trip, the offensive skill-position players visited Georgia with Dak Prescott, that was only reinforced.
Prescott, who was speaking at his annual youth camp in Southlake, Texas, revealed that seeing how CeeDee and George interacted on the recent trip away is what it is all about.
"That might be the best part about it,” Prescott said with a little smirk seemingly knowing that something special is brewing. “That's two guys that want the other guy to succeed. That is literally the best part about those two men is seeing it first-hand. Just them two hanging out and me, the bystander.''
Prescott suggested that he snuck a few looks at his "Goodfellas'' (Pickens' nickname for the two) when they were unaware.
"I go in the house, purposely for a little bit, and just peeking at them,'' Prescott said. "They love each other. They love each other's company. They love each other's game. You just watch them on the field, them talking to each other, them just being one-on-one, they're going to push each other and to be the guy that gets to get them the ball.
"It's exciting as hell."
And we have already seen the chemistry at play at The Star during OTAs and minicamp.
There isn't jealousy that one is getting the ball and the other isn't; both are seemingly happy to see the other have success, partly because the pair know what the other can do for them on the field.
"You can turn on the OTA tapes, and one of the guys, the ball's in the air, and the other one's got his hands up celebrating already," Prescott added. "We just got to continue to grow that and continue to make sure that's trending the right way."
So, make no mistake about it: there will be no tantrums on the sidelines when one is getting more attention than the other.
Granted, that will be put to the test if Lamb or Pickens go three weeks with only a couple of targets, but for now, things appear to be going swimmingly.
