Snow In The Forecast For Week 12 NFL Game

Is there a better combination than snow and football? We would argue that no, there is not.

We could get that this weekend. Snow is in the forecast for at least one NFL game this week. Snowstorms have begun to hit parts of the United States in mid-November, as temperatures begin to drop ahead of the holidays. So far, we've seen some snow in the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest and parts of the Northeast. But will we get any for an NFL game during Week 12 this weekend? It sounds like we might.

The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff between the Browns and the Steelers is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. E.T. on Amazon Prime. According to the weather forecast, we could be in for some wintry weather on Thursday night.

According to the weather forecasts, there's a chance of a wintry mix in Cleveland on Thursday night.

From the forecast, snow and rain are "extremely likely."

Rain and snow is extremely likely, potentially all game long. The silver lining here is that the winds stay somewhat manageable, sustained 10-15mph, gusts around or a bit over 20mph. I do view this as a downgrade to passing, not because they can't throw in this weather (there should still be plenty of passing), but because teams may be a bit more run-heavy in wet weather than they otherwise would be.

The temperature is expected to be in the high 30s, with rain and snow possibly falling all game.

"It’s going to be a cold, wet night in Cleveland tonight," one user shared.

"Thankfully the wind will be easing from this afternoon, dropping from around 25-30mph sustained winds down to 15mph, however it’s the wet stuff that I feel is going to have the biggest impact tonight. While not expected to be heavy, we could have a sustained mix of rain/snow for a large part of tonight’s game. This could lead to wet and slippery conditions for a large part of the game tonight. That, combined with the near freezing temperatures and wind, makes for tough footballing conditions for players."

A snow game would likely benefit the Steelers, as they're typically the tougher team in the trenches. But perhaps Myles Garrett and the Browns defense would be able to force some turnovers against Russell Wilson and Co.

Kickoff between the Browns and the Steelers is set for 8:15 p.m. E.T. on Thursday.

The game will air on Amazon Prime.
