When you think of great Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks in the history of the franchise, former Pro Bowl signal caller Donovan McNabb is consistently on the short list, and for good reason. During his 11-year career with the team, McNabb was named to six Pro Bowls. He managed to throw for 32,873 yards and 216 touchdowns during that stretch, while also adding another 3,249 yards and 28 scores on the ground.
While McNabb may have ended his career with stops with the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings, there is no question that he is considered a legend in Philadelphia. McNabb’s name isn’t going to be in the news as frequently for obvious reasons while he enjoys retirement, but you can bet his name is going to come up a bit more moving forward. The reason for it is going to make everyone feel very old.
Donovan McNabb Jr. (yes you read that correctly) is a talented wide receiver recruit in the 2027 class out of Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep. He actually isn’t the only son of a former NFL player, also being teammates with Daylen Sharper (son of Darren), Devin Fitzgerald (son of Larry), and Case and Bastian Vanden Bosch (sons of Kyle). The younger McNabb is starting to really see his recruiting process begin to uptick.
The 5-11, 160-pound pass catcher has a quickly expanding offer list. McNabb currently holds offers from Syracuse, his dad’s Alma Mater, as well as Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Kansas, UNLV, Temple, UTSA, FAU, Southern Miss, Norfolk State, Northern Arizona, UT Martin, and Sacramento State. That offer list promises to keep filling up now entering just his junior season.
A part of a deep wide receiver room for Brophy, there is some projection here regarding to McNabb. He managed to haul in just nine receptions for 83 yards as a sophomore. McNabb also rushed for 58 yards on three carries while contributing as a kick returner for the team. He is expected to take a massive step forward as a junior in 2025.
