Yet another controversy surrounding an Indianapolis Colts player surfaced Friday night.

With the news breaking of TE Andrew Ogletree being arrested and booked for Domestic Battery.

Since the incident, I have gathered more information on when It happened, what exactly happened, and updated thoughts from the team.

Affidavit from Hendricks County Jail

According to the official affidavit, the Avon Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call on Tuesday, December 26th, at approximately 7:58 p.m. When the police arrived, one officer stated they could hear a man's voice yelling inside the home. The first person to greet the officers was Andrew Ogletree, who was on the phone with his mother. The officers on the scene detained Ogletree before entering the home to investigate the situation further.

Once the police entered the home, they were told by Ogletree's son that the only people home were his father and a woman, and the child pointed upstairs. The officers then went upstairs, where they found the woman crying on the ground; they learned that this woman was Ogletree's girlfriend. She shared with them that she could not move and that the pain was so bad that she felt like she was going to pass out.

She explained to the officer that after going through Ogletree's phone, she realized that he had been cheating on her, which led her to break his phone. Once they walked into the house together, they left the child downstairs to continue their argument. Their argument continued to get worse as she told the police that Ogletree was telling her to essentially go ahead and hit him. Once she attempted to do so, she stated that he pushed her to the ground, where she dropped her phone, which was on an active call with her sister.

They then both walked out of the bedroom, where she shared that Ogletree picked her up and body-slammed her to the ground. She then crawled back into the bedroom, where she asked her sister, who was still on the phone, to call her an ambulance. She told the police that Ogletree then stood over her, saying, they won't believe you. Once the officers arrived, she shared that Ogletree ran downstairs, and when he returned, he was on the phone with his mother.

After her conversation with the police, she was transported to the hospital to check her for possible internal injuries. The officers then went downstairs to speak to Ogletree, who was still detained at the time. He shared with the officers that they were on their way home from dinner and that she had found something on his phone that upset her. He also shared that once they got home, they left his son downstairs to continue their argument.

He stated that there, their argument got worse, and she tried to hit him, but he dodged it and pushed her, which he claims is how she landed on her back. He then was removed from his handcuffs and demonstrated the action to the officers. Ogletree claims that this was the only element of their argument that got physical, declining the body-slammed incident. An officer on the scene explained to Ogletree that she was in a lot of pain a, and expressed his skepticism about that pain being sustained from just being pushed to the ground.

The officer then called the woman's sister, who was the reporting party on the incident. She confirmed that she was on the phone with her sister during the argument in the home. She stated that there was a moment when she couldn't hear her sister or Ogleree anymore, and then she heard her sister scream her name, followed by a loud boom sound. She then proceeded to call 911.

The officer then met the woman and her sister at the hospital to speak to them further, where he was now made aware of the exact injuries she sustained during the altercation. The injury shared with him was "blunt force trauma and contusions from her shoulder blades down to the middle of her back." The doctor also shared that visible swelling was seen on the medical scans they performed.

A warrant was issued for Ogletree's arrest on Thursday, December 28th. He was then arrested and booked on Friday, December 29th, at 3:42 p.m. after turning himself into the Hendricks County Jail. He was charged with "Domestic battery committed in the physical presence of a child less than 16, knowing child present and might be able to see/hear". There has not been a bond set for Ogletree's release and is remains in custody at the time of this article.

Colts source updates Ogletree's status

The Colts have since released the following statement on the incident:

"We are aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree. The team takes these matters seriously. We have notified the NFL and are in the process of gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time."

I spoke with a team source who shared that Ogletree will not be active for the team's Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, and they will continue to gather and examine the facts of the incident while cooperating with the NFL.

Via past incidents, the Colts do not shy away from relating players who violate the law or the NFL's rules in such a severe matter. I suspect that if the alleged incident is proven true, they will cut ties entirely with Ogletree.
