Welcome to the season of predictions where everyone is going to sound off on how they think the Philadelphia Eagles will finish the 2025 season.
Many of those same people predicted that 2024 would be a rough season for the Eagles and even went so far as to think that head coach Nick Sirianni would lose his job. Instead, Philadelphia went 14-3, won the Super Bowl, and Sirianni got a contract extension.
Predictions for this season should be different for the Eagles, as they will be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Some believe they will, and some think they won't. And then there's Sports Illustrated, which is calling for major heartbreak.
SI writer Conor Orr wrote a massive article as he shared his 100 bold predictions for the 2025 season. His number one prediction was the Buffalo Bills taking down the defending Super Bowl champions for the Lombardi Trophy.
"Predicting the Eagles will return to the big game is a begrudging move on my part, but it’s a recognition that nearly all of the NFC front-runners have brutal schedules. Philadelphia is the one team that can handle the rigors of such a slate and win ugly consistently enough to make the dance. Meanwhile, the Bills have an amenable schedule that includes the Browns, Falcons, Panthers and Saints, as well as multiple cracks at the bottom rung of the AFC East. This slate will keep Josh Allen healthy and in berserker mode for the playoffs when Buffalo needs him most."
Philadelphia has had a nice run in recent years of making the Super Bowl, as the Eagles have done it three times since 2017, winning two of them. Two of those appearances have come over the last three years.
The Eagles have owned the Bills in recent years during their series. Since 2003, they have played six times, with Philadelphia winning five of them. They last played in 2023, with the Eagles winning 37-34 in overtime.
If that Super Bowl prediction comes true, then it would be a rematch of sorts as the two teams play each other in Week 17 of the regular season in Buffalo. It's a revenge game of sorts for the Eagles, as the Bills have been trying to push for the ban of the Tush Push over the last two months.
A Super Bowl matchup against Josh Allen and the Bills would be intriguing, as the Eagles face off against their former defensive coordinator, Sean McDermott. Eagles fans know everyone would be cheering for the Bills, but they don't care, especially when history is on the line.
