Spreading the Wealth

With the upcoming 2026 NFL draft a few weeks away, prognosticators have predicted who the Miami Dolphins will draft at pick 11.

That assumes that Jon-Eric Sullivan chooses not to trade the number 11 pick to go down in the draft order and acquire more picks.

With needs all over the roster at cornerback, safety, wide receiver, offensive line, defensive line, tight end, and most notably edge rusher, who should the Dolphins pick?

Another quarterback?

That is likely the only position where the job is Malik Willis‘s to lose, as he is being paid handsomely, albeit a bargain for a QB1.

The Fins have seven picks in the top 100, so I say choose one of each: the more the merrier.

And with that many roster needs, the Dolphins can choose the “best player available” draft strategy, since almost every position has a need.

In my humble opinion, as a simple fan, here are my priorities should the BPA fall to the Dolphins in their positions of need:

Cornerback

Safety

Edge Rusher

Wide receiver

Offensive Line

Defensive Line

Tight End

With the seven picks, Jon-Eric Sullivan should hopefully hit on half of them, building our roster as he said he would, with younger players and through the draft.

There is a long way to go before the 2026 roster is set, but expect it to be a competitive group of hungry players eager to prove themselves.

Competitive, but a far cry from a playoff team.

Sullivan is building for 2027 and 2028, when the team will finally begin to dig themselves out of the financial quagmire left by Chris Grier.

And we can look forward to seeing Malik Willis, the first dual-threat quarterback in the franchise’s history.

The next part of the journey begins on April 23rd in Pittsburgh.
