The Tennessee Titans are hoping they have found their quarterback for at least the next decade after taking Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick. However, not everybody is excited about the draft pick.
Though he's only going into his sophomore year, Nebraska's Dylan Raiola was already eyeing Tennessee at the NFL level. He was not happy that the Titans ended up selecting Ward, which could mean they won't have a quarterback opening for a very long time.
“I was kind of pissed, I wanted to go to Tennessee. I wanted to get drafted by Tennessee or Vegas,” Raiola said on the May 6 episode of "Bussin' With the Boys."
Raiola was born in Hawaii and went to high schools in Texas, Arizona and Georgia, so he doesn't have any strong ties to Tennessee. He did explain why the Titans were the team he wanted to play for.
“I just love Nashville. I like country music,” Raiola said when asked about why he wanted to play in Tennessee.
Raiola has two more years of college football before he's even eligible for the NFL Draft. As a freshman, he threw 13 touchdowns to 11 interceptions while leading the Cornhuskers to a 7-6 record.
He has to show a lot more before he can be considered an NFL prospect. It's still possible that he could end up in Tennessee in the future, but it's too early for him to be thinking about the NFL.
Luckily for Raiola, he has time to show that he should be a high draft pick in the NFL in 2027 or 2028. For now, the Titans are all-in on Ward.
