In more than 100 years of existence, the Chicago Bears had never had an elite quarterback.
Playing the position in Chicago's blistering cold and inclement winds adds a degree of difficulty, and the Bears usually build their offense around strong running games. But with Caleb Williams at the helm, times have finally changed in the Windy City.
While it may have taken him a little longer than some fans speculated, it seems like the former No. 1 pick has finally turned the page.
As pointed out by Pro Football Focus, Williams has been the highest-ranked quarterback in the league over the past couple of weeks, posting a 91.1 grade.

Williams was under heavy scrutiny for his decision-making and accuracy — or lack thereof. He's been on a roll over the past couple of weeks, completing 40-of-70 passes for 500 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also has 13 carries for 116 rushing yards and one touchdown.
The Bears put up 47 and 24 points to win two games in a row and take their record to 6-3. This team has already won more games than it won in Williams' rookie season (five). And while he got off to a slow start, it seems like Ben Johnson was the right guy to develop him and coach the flaws out of his game.
Through nine games, Williams is up to 2,136 passing yards, 16 total touchdowns and just four interceptions. He's proving why it's never wise or accurate to give up on young quarterbacks early, and it's all about having the right supporting cast, system and coaching staff around the signal-caller.
