Stay or go: Philadelphia Eagles' 2024 free agents

Once Philadelphia figures out what to do with head coach Nick Siranni, the team needs to decide which Eagles to bring back to the nest.

With 20 players eligible for free agency and $28M in available cap space, general manager Howie Roseman needs to make some tough decisions. Here is who we think will and won’t be back in 2024.

Offense

Jack Driscoll (G): A fourth-round pick in 2020, the former Auburn Tiger has 17 career starts at both guard and tackle. With Jason Kelce retiring, Driscoll’s versatility is a huge plus.

Verdict: Stay

Julio Jones (WR): Thanks for the three touchdowns, see you in the Hall of Fame.

Verdict: Go

Jason Kelce (C): He already said he’s retiring, right? Stay tuned

Verdict: Go

Marcus Mariota (QB): Mariota threw 15 passes in 2023 but looked terrible in the preseason. If third-string QB Tanner McKee showed anything at practice, there’s no reason to keep Mariota.

Verdict: Go

Albert Okwuegbunam (TE): Philadelphia traded a sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for Okwuegbunam and a seventh-round pick. He saw one target and made no catches this season.

Verdict: Go

Sua Opeta (G): Like Driscoll, Opeta is a versatile player with experience at both left and right guard. With over 900 snaps under his belt, the former undrafted free agent offers great depth for a transitioning offensive line.

Verdict: Stay

Rashaad Penny (RB): Once one of the league’s top running backs, Penny had 11 carries for 33 yards in 2023.

Verdict: Go

Boston Scott (RB): Scott’s 20 carries and 86 yards were career lows for the six-year veteran. Once known as the “Giant Killer,” the diminutive back saw just four carries in two games against Big Blue.

Verdict: Go

Jack Stoll (TE): Considering starting tight end Dallas Goedert hasn’t played a full season since 2018, the restricted free agent provides much needed depth at the position.

Verdict: Stay

D’Andre Swift (RB): No one would blame the Philly native for signing with another team. The NFL’s fifth-leading rusher saw just 10 carries in the Eagles' wild-card loss to the Bucs and based on the team’s history he’ll never see a big payday with the franchise.

Verdict: Go

Quez Watkins (WR): His 1,249 yards and six touchdowns would be great if he didn’t take four years to get them. With just 15 catches and 142 yards in 2023, he’s not the “elite receiver” he’d have you believe.

Verdict: Go

Olimide Zaccheaus (WR): Eagles fans wanted to believe the former Falcon was better than Watkins. He wasn’t.

Verdict: Go

Defense

Fletcher Cox (DT): After another disappointing season from second-year tackle Jordan Davis, Philadelphia would love to keep the 33-year-old tackle on hand. With the third-most games played as an Eagle (188), Cox could finish as the franchise leader with one more contract.

Verdict: Stay

Zach Cunningham (LB): Cunningham was an afterthought when the team signed him in August, as were all of the team’s linebackers in the regular season.

Verdict: Go

Justin Evans (S): The 28-year-old safety played four games before going on the IR with a knee injury. He forced and recovered one fumble but did little else to warrant another contract.

Verdict: Go

Brandon Graham (DE): Graham said he’d like to return and given the subpar performance of first-round rookie Nolan Smith, the team could really use him. His game fell off a bit in 2023, but if the money is right, Philadelphia would love to have the franchise leader in games played (195) back for 2024.

Verdict: Stay

Shaquille Leonard (LB): A late-season addition after being released by the Colts, the oft-injured Leonard was good, not great in five games played. With three All-Pro nominations in his pocket, he may have played his last NFL game.

Verdict: Go

Nicholas Morrow (LB): Morrow tied a career high with three sacks and his 95 tackles were second-most by any Eagle in 2023, but teams learned to target him as the season wore on.

Verdict: Go

Bradley Roby (CB): Nine games, 22 tackles, no interceptions. With Darius Slay and James Bradberry already signed, the last thing the Eagles need is another 30-something cornerback on the roster.

Verdict: Go

Special Teams

Braden Mann (P): Mann’s 49.8 yards per punt were eighth-most in the NFL and good enough for a team that needed to move on from Arryn Siposs.

Verdict: Stay
