The Pittsburgh Steelers finally have clarity at the quarterback position after Aaron Rodgers made it public that he’s joining the team for the 2025 season. After months of speculation and uncertainty, Pittsburgh has landed a veteran leader to guide the offense. While Rodgers is now 41 years old and coming off a five-win season with the New York Jets, the Steelers believe his experience and football IQ can bring stability to a team that has lacked it at quarterback in recent years.

Many analysts believe Rodgers was not the real problem in New York. Between a shaky offensive line, inconsistent play-calling, and poor team chemistry, the Jets never gave him a real chance to succeed. Now that he is healthy and in a more structured environment, some believe he still has vintage moments left in him and could make a serious impact in Pittsburgh if things click.

Excitement started to build on Wednesday when Steelers wide receiver Ben Skowronek posted a video on social media showing himself catching passes from Rodgers and finishing the workout with a dunk. The clip quickly made the rounds, fueling optimism among fans about the early chemistry between Rodgers and his new teammates. It may be early, but the energy around the Steelers' new quarterback is already starting to show.

The Instagram clip shared by Skowronek gave Steelers fans a fun glimpse into the offseason bonding happening out in Malibu. While the wide receiver didn’t show any of the football-specific drills or on-field workouts, he did include a moment that caught plenty of attention.

In the video, Skowronek catches an alley-oop from Rodgers and throws down an impressive dunk. The 41-year-old quarterback looked genuinely surprised by Skowronek’s athleticism and turned to the camera with a smile, admitting he wasn’t expecting that kind of bounce.

When news broke that Rodgers would be joining the Steelers, some fans expressed concern about how he would fit in with the locker room. His time in New York came with plenty of media attention, and many feared that he might bring distractions or clash with teammates.

So far, though, Rodgers has been doing everything right. He has embraced his role as a leader, spent time getting to know the team, and made it clear that he is committed to making this transition work. There is still a long way to go before the regular season begins, but Rodgers already seems to be earning the respect of his teammates and proving doubters wrong.

This could very well be Rodgers’ final season in the NFL, and the Steelers are doing everything they can to make it count. The front office has been aggressive in surrounding him with talent and giving him a roster capable of competing for a championship. Rodgers appears focused, motivated, and ready for one last run at a Super Bowl. If the early signs are any indication, Pittsburgh is ready to rally around him in pursuit of something special in 2025.

Steelers Players Likely Out In Malibu With Rodgers

The Steelers players currently training with Rodgers out in Malibu appear to include tight end Pat Freiermuth, wide receiver Calvin Austin III, and Skowronek. It’s also believed that DK Metcalf is expected to join the sessions at some point. While the workouts remain relatively private, the glimpses fans have seen suggest that Rodgers is already building chemistry and forming strong relationships with his new teammates. It’s a promising sign that he’s not just showing up but fully embracing the Steelers culture.

Rodgers' early attitude has given Steelers fans a real reason to feel optimistic. After years of uncertainty at the quarterback position, Pittsburgh finally has a proven veteran who brings both experience and leadership. His presence, combined with a revamped roster full of young talent and physical playmakers, is beginning to shift the tone around the team. There’s a noticeable energy surrounding Rodgers, and it’s clear he is taking this opportunity seriously.
