Steelers Announce Aaron Rodgers Development on Friday

While the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) secured a 34-12 win against the Cincinnati Bengals (3-7) in Week 11, the team also left worried about star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In the second quarter of the game, Rodgers was under pressure and ended up throwing a pass out of bounds, but it was too little too late. The 41-year-old quarterback ended up having three Bengals defenders land on him, resulting in Rodgers landing awkwardly on his left wrist. It was reported earlier this week that he has a "slight break" in his wrist, but because it's not his throwing arm, there is a chance that he can soldier through and play.

That report is something Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed on Friday, as he told the media that Rodgers is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears (7-3).

"I thought I saw a solid effort," Tomlin said. "But it's Friday and we still got some time. He was listed as a partial participant and given a questionable designation and we'll see."

With Rodgers sidelined for the remainder of the game Sunday, the team turned to longtime backup Mason Rudolph, who had a strong showing. Rudolph completed 12 of 16 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown in what was his third appearance of the year.

While Steelers fans would love to see Rodgers, who signed a one-year deal with the team in the offseason, they at least know the level of play they can get in Rudolph if the aging quarterback is unable to go.

Sunday's bout against the Bears will kick off at 1 p.m. ET in Chicago and air on CBS.
