The Pittsburgh Steelers made two big moves to their injury report on Saturday ahead of a Week 6 road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that could have major implications in the AFC North standings.

Wide receiver D.K. Metcalf has been removed from the injury report and has no designation as he’s dealing with an illness. The Steelers did not list him with a status for Sunday’s game.

Metcalf has been a lineup fixture for the Pittsburgh Steelers since arriving from the Seattle Seahawks in 2025, starting all 20 games he has played in Pittsburgh. The two-time Pro Bowler has 516 catches for 7,399 yards in his career and gave the Steelers a proven target on the outside.

This season, Metcalf has 19 receptions on 37 targets for 225 yards and a touchdown. He caught five passes for 115 yards against the Cleveland Browns on October 1, but finished with three catches for 12 yards in a 34-22 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 11.

Tight end Pat Freiermuth was added to the injury report with a calf injury and is questionable, according to Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly.

Freiermuth has 19 catches for 169 yards and four touchdowns this season including two touchdowns against the Colts.

Kickoff at Raymond James Stadium is set for 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. The Buccaneers are 1-4 and are coming off a 24-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Sunday will mark a big test for the Steelers offense with Metcalf returning from an illness and with Freiermuth questionable to play.
